The first step to qualifying to Tokyo takes place this weekend at Liverpool's Echo Arena. The bigger than ever British championships has come to the home of British champs Beth Tweddle & Hannah Whelan. For the first time the competition is taking place in a large arena and on a podium, giving even the youngest competitors a taste of what a large international competition would be like.

Saturday - Junior & Senior All Around (and event final qualifying)
Sunday - Espoir, Junior & Senior Event Finals
Last year I attended the champs when they were held in Guildford. This year I'll have to watch from afar, but I hope for the gymnasts that this large venue fills up enough to have a great atmosphere.
